Flashcards: Problems or questions
I LOVE the Flashcards. I have used the option to make my own. However, my list I create won't stay. I can use it but when I go away and try to come back to it, it's gone. What am I doing wrong? Quiero ayudar! ![]()

try going to your own flashcards and viewing from there. Every once in a while, I get an error, but for the most part, that should clear things up for ya! -Cheers!
It's just that before there used to be a print option and the words would get printed onto a sheet of paper, with lines all marked out to cut up into flash card sizes. I guess this option is no longer available.
thanks again

I am sorry, Carol, this is possible, I never used this option. I always copy and paste the whole list.

Thanks for the replies.
I will copy and paste from now on. It's just that before there used to be a print option and the words would get printed onto a sheet of paper, with lines all marked out to cut up into flash card sizes. I guess this option is no longer available.
thanks again

What I do, is copy he list which is below the flashcards (in blue) , paste it on word and then print the list. I hope that helps.
I think only one at a time by right-clicking and selecting print... from the Flash menu.
Can anybody tell me how to print of the flashcards that go with each lessons. I used to be able to print them off before the web site was updated but now I am unable to print. Thanks for any help
Ok, wonderful, problem solved then.
Have fun .
I actually HAVE some more info for you. And some news which should allow you to easily fix it.
Your right flashcards are a great feature and My spanish study group and I have really began to rely on these flashcards.... and so several of us spent a good part of the afternoon on the problem. I had someone from class enter the latest chapters vocab list and she had the same problem with the little green button disappearing one ONE of the three chapters she entered (like me the problem was intermittent)
We got on the phone and started trying to "fix" the issue. tried removing extra spaces, characters, numbers etc...nothing worked....then I finally got one of my lists that was "broken" to start working again by removing a bunch of words.

We are thinking that the system has a limit on the # of characters it is allowing and any list that goes over that # of characters stops working. Which explains why chapter 15 of our textbook which has longer words and phrases "broke" long before some of our other chapters which have a lot more words.
so the fix should be pretty easy. Look into the number of characters you allow and either put a note in flashcards so others are aware of the issue and can work around it, add one of those neat character left counters (like you have on the bottom of the page I am now), or increase the # of characters.
Shawn, your problem shows on my computer too, no green button.
However, I have created several decks and some of them as long as 42 words. I am sorry, but the problem does not show.
However, the easy way out seems to be :create shorter lists.
Remember, the facility to create free flashcards for your own use is a priviledge you only get on this site.
I have checked and created one with your own words. It works fine.
Sorry, unless you want to create shorter lists, we cannot help you any further.
You never did acknowledge that when you looked at the links I have provided if you saw the "Begin Flashcards" button. This is the problem.
If the problem was with MY PC then the button would show on your PC but not mine. I'd also like to note that I have three different computers on two different networks and have had this problem on all three PCs and have created the deck (and had issues) on multiple PCs. However, I have created several flashcard decks that DO work (all of them smaller decks) and had no issue with the any flashcard deck before the big crash.
I also have a classmate who has told me she is having the same issue with your site. I will see if I can get the links to the stack she created(so that is now 4 different PCs and 2 different users that are having problems).
In a previous post I provided the date and time that I created the deck. I did this so you could look at your site and pinpoint the issue. I know that is how my tech support for companies website finds and resolves the issue since it is often difficult to re-create an issue. I feel sure that if you created a 70 card deck you would have the same issue yourself.
The problem seems to be happening when a larger word group is created so the smaller stacks you have created will not show the issue. the problem is also intermittent. I have had this issue crop up 6 times.
Here are links to the 2 other sets of flashcards that I have created this week that are having the same issues

Hi shawn, I had already answered you but as you still seem to have problems, I have bothered to copy the first part of your list (with the mistakes) just like you posted it. The list stays put and it reads perfectly. I really don't know why you have this problem but it must be either the browser or some kind of problem on your computer.

It JUST happened again minutes ago the timing should allow you to go in and see the problem. Maybe it has to do with the number of cards I am creating? This is the THIRD set I've created this week that this is not displaying the little green box.
I saved this one several times and the box allowing me to use the flashcards was there. The last time when I had finished adding in the last cards I saved it and the box was gone...

Can you look at the two links I have provided? This is the 5th set of cards that I've created that have had this problem (all have been since the system was brought back up. I did not have any problems before the crash)
The links I provided above are the two I created in the past week. I've tried from multiple machines so it is an intermittent problem with the website and not my PC. I am finding this pretty frustrating since it takes awhile to create these decks and makes it difficult for me to do my weekly studying.
Thanks a lot shawn, this might be of great help .
However, I added a list only yesterday with 42 words and it shows correctly.
Please have a look. I really don't know what the problem might be in your case as I have no problem at all creating a list.
