How to say college in Spanish

Question

I am a faculty of Dhaka University, Bangladesh. Recently I have faced a problem while translating my CV into Spanish. The problem arises from the fact that in Spanish , both "College" and "University" are termed as "universidad". However, in Bangladesh, a college refers to an institution which offers two years of education i.e. eleventh grade and twelfth grade. Every student in Bangladesh must go to a college before going to a university for a four years course of Bachelor degree and one /two year long course of Masters degree.

I have studied in Dhaka College for my eleventh and twelfth grade and Dhaka University for my Bachelor and Masters degree.

Could you please tell me how to translate the terms "Dhaka College" and "Dhaka University" in Spanish? Shall I translate both of them as "Universidad de Dhaka"?

In Mexico and in California, the words for High School (grades 9-12) are Preparatoria, and Escuela Segundaria respectively. (Although, in some school districts, a "middle" school exists with grade 7-9 and the high school from grades 10-12.)

In Mexico post secondary education is called "Universidad" whether for two years or four.

In California the two year "Community College" is called "colegio" and the four year school is called "universidad."

However in other regions, "colegio" refers to something entirely different.

A school of Higher Learning is called a universidad if it is divided into "departments" like the English Department, Department of Humanities, Science Department, etc.

The equivalent word in Spanish is "facultad" like "facultad" de matemáticas, facultad de ciencias, etc.

I would use the name Dhaka College and say

Hice mis estudios preuniversitarios (grados 11y12) en Dhaka College.

I think this could change in different countries. Since you say it is eleventh and twelfth grades, in my country this would be "secundaria completa" or "bachillerato"'

I think you could say something like pre-universidad or estudios preuniversitarios. When I was at that level , the name was Preparatorios but it Is not used any more.

Maybe something like.
Hice mis estudios preuniversitarios en Dahka College and there the word college Is just a name and what Is important Is "preuniversitarios".

The problem arises from the fact that In Bangladesh, a college refers to an institution which offers two years of education i.e. eleventh grade and twelfth grade.

Since the education system in the United States is different from other countries, this would be correct in Spanish, El Bachillerato or El Instituto de Dhaka translates Secondary School or College. El instituto is common in Spain. El bachillerato or la escuela (de enseñanza) secundaria is common in both Spain and the Americas.

This would be correct in Spanish, La Universidad de Dhaka or Dhaka University, if you are referring to a four-year university with a course of a Bachelor or Master's degrees.
