Nicknames for Police in Spain

Question

In England there are lots of nicknames for Police, some humerous, some kind and some derogatory. At demonstrations people often shout out 'Pigs' this is a popular but derogatory nickname.

The Police twitter feed has posted a picture of officers trying to move some pigs off a road after an accident. In England there would be loads of memes. They have said

' Accidente a la entrada de #Soria y cerdos "despistados" por la carretera. (Sin risitas, eeeeh! Somos "polivalentes")'

There is no way any Police site in the UK would post a picture of Police with pigs!

I know the pig nick from my crime series.

In Spain we say l

los maderos (policía nacional)

pitufos o guindilla (policía local)

la pasma (más despectivo)

Here we call them in three ways that I remember. There could be more that I don't know.

"Milico". It comes from "militar" and it's not especially derogatory and even sometimes endearing

"Botón" I think it comes from all the buttons a police or military unifrom has.

"Cana" this is slang or "lunfardo".and it could stand for the police institution as well.

En este barrio viven muchos milicos.
Julito es un botón y es muy botón. (bossy)
Ahí viene la cana. (police institution)

None of these terms are used on ´TV, radio or papers.
