Hi All,

I would like to know important vocabulary for soccer i.e. offside, goalkeeper, foul etc. I already know a few words but I would like to know more if possible.

The word pelota can also be said esférico or balón not to repeat the word pelota.

The word golero could be arquero, portero, goalkeeper not to repeat.

Is it true they sometimes say "suplentes" for substitutes? I notice in some games they say this but it is not in the lists you gave me?

You are right:

suplente, substitutes.

suplente 2. Jugador que no se incluye o no suele incluirse en la alineación inicial de un equipo y que puede sustituir a otro en caso de que sea necesario.

"los suplentes salieron a hacer ejercicios de calentamiento"

We could also have:

estadio tribunas
el marcador (the score)
el equipo
prueba anti-doping
primer tiempo
segundo tiempo
entretiempo
alargue
definición por penales
minutos de alargue
torneo
liguilla (I don't know if there is one in everycountry)
el clásico
una goleada
el goleador
etc. etc.
