Game: One letter changes all !
This is a bit of an exercise in vocabulary both English and Spanish.
Some words are often misspelled and have a completely different meaning.
Let's take these:
through - trough (a trevés - abrevadero).
lie - lye (mentira - lejía).
I would like you to write a pair of English or Spanish words that are almost identical except for one letter. Next to it please write the most common Spanish/English meaning.
I'm looking for examples like the above, where the words can be easily confused. Pairs like "train - rain" are not as much fun.
If you can think of Spanish words that work the same way, by all means go ahead and write the Spanish pair, with the English meaning next to them!

capital - la capital, la mayúscula
capitol - el capitolio
Austin, la capital del estado de Texas, tiene un capitolio coronado por una cúpula.

Faint Desmayarse/ lingero
Feint La finta / fintar
There is a faint chance that the feint will deceive the opponent.
Hay una posibilidad ligera que la finta vaya a funcionar para engañar al oponente.

Heroin- heroína
Heroine- heroína

warn - advertir
worn - raído

Augur- augurar
Auger- barrena, taladro (con un tipo de broca especiíico)
When the auger snapped, he thought “this does not augur well for the project”.

Sell- vender
Descubrieron que él intentaba vender cigarrillos en su celda.

Toad - sapo
Toed- que tiene dedos de pie
Towed- remolcar

Whirl- giro, remolino, girar
Después de ver la espiral de pintura en la obra de su amigo, decidió tratar de hacer una él mismo.

risa - laughter
No sé si es rizar el rizo pero me da risa.

Barón- baron
Varón- male
