Phrasal verbs with “G E T”.

Phrasal verbs with “G E T”.

This is a simple challenge.

Find a phrasal verb containing the word “G E T”.

Then write a sentence using that phrasal verb in Spanish and English.

Examples:

You certainly get around! Paris one minute, Bonn the next.

La verdad es que sales mucho! Hoy en París, mañana en Bonn.

I haven't got around to asking him (it) yet.

Todavía no he encontrado el momento de preguntárselo.

This is a round tuit.

Yes Dear ! smile

Because I now have "a round tuit" I can get around to doing something.

This was the previous "Phrasal Verb" challenge.

The people of the so called socialist countries couldn't get around too often during the years when the " Iron curtain" existed.

Get down

He was getting a bit down from all the crap at work, but once he got downtown to the disco and got down a few drinks, he got down onto the dance floor and got down and boogied all night, and in the end couldn't wait to get down in writing in his diary how good the day turned out to be.

Get down with the sickness

Joe needed to get into the right mood to write his paper in time to get in to class and get it in before he missed the deadline and got into trouble.

Get over

He knew that if he was ever going to get over there, he would have to get over his fear and get over the bridge- he just had to get it over with.

Get to

He didn’t know where time had gotten to, and thinking about all the things he had yet to do was starting to get to him, but he knew that if he was going to get to go, he had better get to it, so he would be able to go on vacation and get to Hawaii.

Get at

I couldn't quite get at the salt from where I was sitting, so I pointed at it, but my wife pretended not to know what I was getting at, because it gets her goat when I do that instead of speaking.

Get away

He wanted to get away from it all for a bit, but was not sure he could safely get away from his job for any period of time and still get away with the embezzlement he had been doing, and he was worried that if he went away for too long, someone would get onto him, and he would have to make a quick getaway to avoid being put away for a long time.

She's been getting a bit above herself since winning that award.

Arrogant

NOTA To get above yourself se utiliza mucho en tiempos continuos.
