Regresar vs Volver

Question

Hi!

I have been reading things about both verbs here, however, they seem confusing for me still.

I would like to know if there is a significant difference between the two or if it's not really important to know the difference, as long as you know how to use them(grammatically).

Do you have a particular context? I remember Volver from the song sung by Estrella Morente in the film of the same name.

In my Spanish class I remember volverse as a verb of change.

They have a meaning in common, which is "to come/go back". But "volver" means more things too.

Volver a + infinitive means to do something again. Lupe volvió a cantar. Lupe started singing again.

Volverse loco. To go crazy.

Me vuelvo un poco loca cuando oigo las noticias sobre las elecciones. I go crazy when I hear the news about the elections.

Volverle loco a alguien. To drive someone craczy. Esa música hip-hop me vuelve loca.

That hip-hop music drives me crazy.

Volver en sí. To regain consciousnes. Después de haber recibido un golpe severo en la cabeza, el hombre volvió en sí.
