For a project I have to say "si pudiera andar en otros zapatos por un dia..." When I am writing about the celebrity that I chose, should I use ser or estar? I was thinking ser because I "will be" this celebrity, but also estar seems to make sense because it is only for one day. Any feedback would be helpful. Thanks

"Ser is used with identity" You should get your tenses right in English, before you start the Spanish. "If I could walk in another's shoes, I would be__________________________.

In Spanish this would be "subjunctive" in the first clause, and conditional in the second.

Come back and edit your post. If there are errors we will correct.

Now if you will just fill out your profile, I will tell you more. smile It's easy, click on my name and see mine. (You don't have to do your bio in Spanish though. )

Big Edit:

Si pudiera caminar un día en los zapatos de otra persona, sería ( nombre de la persona)

If I could walk in another person's shoes I would be. (name of person)

We use "ser" because in any tense, it's identity. Whether it's temporary or permanent, is irrelevant. ,
