por vs para hacerse

"The last time we saw each other you were going to university to become a lawyer, right?

"La ultima vez que nos vimos, ibas a la universidad para hacerte abogada, no?"

My main question is: is it "por hacerte" or "para hacerte" in this example?

Second: if you see any mistakes, or if you would phrase it a different way so it sounds more natural, tell me please. This would help me aswell.

"Para" has the meaning of "in order to"

So that particular phrase means " going to the university in order to become a lawyer."

I would say: ..... para estudiar el derecho ....

That sounds right, but a more natural way is para estudiar derecho
