Picture of the day: Oh Deer!
Hello Everybody! Welcome to the Picture of the Day!
This is a game where we can practice our Spanish and English, but still have fun at the same time!
Hola amigos. It has been brought to my attention that posting in my own thread is not considered kosher to some of you. While I decide if I am going to continue doing this task, I ask that you not vote for me at all if I happen to post. I am not interested in points. I cannot select myself as a winner ever even if I received the most votes as it is not possible to chose oneself as a winner in your own thread. I probably will not be posting an answer anymore, but if I do, please do not vote for me. I am only interested in comments and corrections. Thank you for your participation for these many months. You guys are the best!
Post your comments/titles/captions to this picture (both in Spanish and English) and vote for the responses you like. The best answer will be chosen soon on the basis of the answer I like best, the fact that they have corrected their post and possibly the number of votes.
Please, give everyone a chance and only post more or less one caption and no photos.
Please encourage everyone with a vote.
. .Please help each other with your English/Spanish sentences. And above all, have fun!

Breaking News !
Two truants from school found hiding in a car .
"Mum said we could hide ourselves in here."
"Mamá dijo que podíamos ocultarnos aquí."
What do you call a deer with no eyes?
No idea. (no-eyed deer)
What do you call a deer with no eyes and no legs?
Still no idea.
It won't translate into Spanish, but for my Spanish speaking friends, the English "No idea" sounds very much like "no-eyed deer" which is another way of saying "deer with no eyes." Also in English, the word "still" can mean "todavia" or "inmóvil."
With that, I'll practice my Spanish, if I may.
¿Cómo se llama un ciervo sin ojos?
Ninguna idea.
A woman to her husband: "Sweetheart, I told you we need some servants not deer."
(This pun works in Spanish only. .)
Wow what a crazy ride.
Guau qué aventón loco."
Gracias Daniela2041
The deer on the right: "...Our eldest brother told us that we could go to (ie: participate in) his 'stag party' tonight, so we thought we should have a siesta, first!..Please don't say anything to mum because we are sure that she would not let us go (out)!" ![]()
She "would" not let us go out. (This last part is just a suggestion. Here I prefer the conditional in both languages.) - Daniela2041 1 hr ago flag
But that's just my personal preference. You are not incorrect.
But don't forget to make "seguros" plural. ¿Vale? - Daniela2041 1 hr ago
Budget cuts to the Forest Service have caused there to be no money for the purpose of maintaining the motor pool, and so now the veterinarians have to transport the rehabilitated animals in their own cars. But in spite of this the country still has not saved enough money to pay for even one more fighter jet.
We're sorry. You'll have to ride in the back of the car.
We don't usually accept rides from strangers, but we can't find our mama, and this nice lady is a forest ranger.
Twin girls: Are they for us? Thank you daddy. These are so much better than puppies!
Las gemelas: ¿Son para nosotras? Gracias papá. ¡Estos son mucho mejores que los cachorros!
This is not what I meant when I said: If you invest a little doe (dough) it can grow into a couple of fat bucks.
Does not translate well.
No traduce bien.
Harina, same as dough, money in this context.
As far as I know it is forbidden to remove these small animals in their environment ,because in this case they are in great danger. I hope this is not the truth and they will grow up in peace.
We look sweet now, but just wait until the car starts to move and we start to jump around and land on the driver's lap. Panic!
I guess Santa hasn't been treating them well.
Deer: this seems like a safe place to rest for a while.
