This is a game where we can practice our Spanish and English, but still have fun at the same time!

The rules are very simple and remain more or less exactly as RelaxingCup designed them and H C A student continued.

  • Post your comments/titles/captions to this picture (both in Spanish and English) and vote for the responses you like. The best answer will be chosen soon on the basis of the greatest number of votes as well as the language accuracy.

  • Please, give everyone a chance and post one or so captions and no photos.

Please encourage everyone with a vote. smile

. .Please help each other with your English/Spanish sentences. And above all, have fun!

Me gustan varones altos, morenos y guapos...

I like my men tall, dark and handsome... But I'm not sure about the fishy breath...

She's cute, but I have seen her type before, and I don't want to catch fleas.

type like a 'guy'? if so I didn't know it could be used like that - Pablo064, Sep 25, 2015
Is it usually reserved for use in describing men? Would "su clase antes" be better? - jrschenk, Sep 25, 2015
Ooh i understand it is okay 'visto su tipo' without 'a' - Pablo064, Sep 25, 2015
Gracias por su paciencia. ;) - jrschenk, Sep 25, 2015

No me interesa un beso... ¿tal vez un lametazo?

I´m not interested in a kiss... how about a lick?

Go ahead and give her a smooch, mister. It's for a good cause: to feed homeless kittens.

Daniela, thanks for the analysis. This kind of analysis is second nature for me in English, but somehow it gets by me in Spanish. - AnnRon, Sep 24, 2015

The cat sitting outside the booth: "To kiss or not to kiss ..that is the question?! Would I be being unfaithful to my ex (boyfriend) if I were to give this cat here a kiss or two and what would the neighour's say?! I suppose that it could be the start of a beautiful friendship!" lol

Editor's note/s: I am not sure if the verb imaginar triggers the subjunctive mood because the act of imagining something involves the emotions and seems to suggest a degree of uncertianty as to whether something might happen at some pint in the future, the act of imagining also seems to start with the intellect (mind) so cam to teh conclusion that the indicative is used. A tricky one! wink

disclaimer: Apologies to Shakespear for misquoting from his play, Hamlet:" To be or not to be ...that is the question" etc....

..sentada afuera de la....'que podemos or podríamos..' how do you do if you are speaking in Spanish? I mean do you stop and start to think about the nature of subjunctive and if you should use it or you just omit it and use indicative? - Pablo064, Sep 25, 2015
I think that 'imaginar' never requires subjunctive ;) - Pablo064, Sep 25, 2015
No, if I am already speaking I don't stop and think about it I just usually useo or the other - FELIZ77, Sep 25, 2015
However, this is the time when I try to to understand which should be used , My native Spanish teacher may also correct me in my lesson or I may simply ask her . Apart from situations like these ..I just try to do my best and hope that I have developed - - FELIZ77, Sep 25, 2015
correct habits To be hones, I am probably more bothered by anuy mistakes I have made than any native Spanish speaker with whom I am speaking who is not expecting me to speak their language perfectly 1 lol - FELIZ77, Sep 25, 2015
correction above; On eor the other (bad typing mistakes...I can spell! lol) - FELIZ77, Sep 25, 2015

I prefer kissing under mistletoe, but only if I can find some mice there.

If you want your cats to mate and provide you kittens, building them a kissing booth is one of the least useful strategies.
