me puede alquien explicar que es la diferencia entre esta dos frases:

Ayer estuve en la biblioteca.

Ayer estaba en la biblioteca.

Ayer estuve en la biblioteca.

Ayer estaba en la biblioteca.

Ayer estuve en la biblioteca. Ya no estoy en la biblioteca. No se necesita nada más. Aunque puedes agregar algo si quieres. Ayer estuve en la biblioteca y luego fui a la tienda.

Ayer estaba en la biblioteca. ¿Y...? Crea un escenario. Ayer estaba en la biblioteca cuando de repente me caí. Ayer estaba en la biblioteca cuando vi a María. Se necesita algo más. Y no importa si todavía estoy en la biblioteca, o no.

Por lo menos, es lo que yo entiendo, como alumno de español.

Both this question, and your question about hubo/había seem to be about the preterit and imperfect.
hubo and estuve are in the preterit

había and estaba are in the imperfect.

I would suggest a study of when to use the preterit and the imperfect.

Acabo de leer que usted prefiere las respuestas en español. Entonces intento a escribirla en español.

Ambos de sus preguntas acerca de hubo/habia y estuve/estaba aparecen estar acerca del uso del pretérito y el imperfecto.

hubo y estuve están en el pretérito

había y estaba están en el imperfecto.

sugeriría un estudio de cómo usar el pretérito y el imperfecto

Estuve and estaba are both from the verb "estar". Have a look at the conjugations for estar.
