I am new and I do not know much about this website. Would someone please be kind enough to be a friend and help me learn what is on this website?

Sure! Welcome to the Forum!
On the home page (click the big SpanishDict button to get there) there is a translator that will help you if you are unsure of the meaning of something. Be warned, it's not exact!
The forum is used for asking questions regarding Spanish (much like this question) as well as answering them. Good questions or answers will influence people to vote on you, giving you reputation. The more reputation you have, the more features are unlocked!
Badges are earned by doing a number of different tasks. See this link for more information.
And that's about everything! My username is HCA Student, I post the Picture of the Day thread that you are welcome to participate in. Rac1 posts the Word of the Day, which I see you have already found. Ian posts the English Word of the day. You are welcome to participate in any of these!

Video lessons are best to start with. Following the vdo lessons there are more flashcards , listening and writing exercises accompanied in the module. They are fun for practicing . and you earn point as you finish each module. That is good for motivation. I am learning too and enjoying to be here. Welcome. Bienvenido !
