Due to the fact that a lot of families are finding it hard to make ends meet, the city of Seattle has increased the legal minimum wage to fifteen dollars an hour. It will be very interesting to see if this ends up causing more damage to the economy of the city than benefit in the long run, or the opposite.

Bosque, you beat me to the punch. I thought I was going to be the first answer. - AnnRon, Aug 10, 2014
The only one to benefit will be the business people paying less and earning more , they still have the power , not the people . - ray76, Aug 11, 2014

Nothing: "les cuesta" - 003e54f5, Aug 11, 2014
I'm a business person and I disagree with Ray. Small business pays through the nose. I just read a statistic yesterday that said 40% of US residents do not even pay one cent in taxes. Imo, it will hurt by closing many businesses that can't afford it - 007c5fc1, Aug 11, 2014
Gracias, Pablo. Un error muy tonto. :) - bosquederoble, Aug 11, 2014
I tend to worry that it will drive businesses out of the city. Some can relocate to nearby cities. - bosquederoble, Aug 11, 2014

I can't allow the day to end without a single answer for the English Word of the Day.

No puedo permitir terminar el día sin una sola repuesta para la palabra en inglés del día.

Enjoy your youth while you have it, Pablo. Worry about old age when it comes. - AnnRon, Aug 11, 2014
There is no end amigo, just a brief stop along the busy highway to allow us to change direction and find the road less travelled. - 007c5fc1, Aug 11, 2014
Never take it seriously amigos , it is a giant comedy, some say a farce. - ray76, Aug 11, 2014

The neighborhood kids played in our street, because we lived on a dead end.

Los niños del barrio jugaban en nuestra calle, porque vivíamos en calle sin salida.

When you are watching a bad movie, it is a relief when you see the inscription : The end.

Cuando estás viendo una película mala, es un alivio cuando ves la inscripción: al final.
