Usando la palabra 'ya'

Question

Yo se que 'ya' significa "already" pero la palabra esta usado en muchas frases como "Ya estamos en ello" (We've go it). ¿Cuales son unos reglas para usando ya?

It can also mean 'now' or even 'still' especially in a negative sentence.

I don't know about any rules, but ya can mean several things:

Ya, Voy! Ok, I'm coming!

Llame ya! Call now!

¿Estás listo? Ya no Are you ready? Not yet.

¿Ya Tiraste la basura? Si, ya lo hice Did you already take out the trash? Yes, I already did

That's all that comes to mind right now.

you can also say ¡párate ya! which means stop!
