Bueno, si este los EEUU por lo menos nada en la dirección correcto. Los peatones (y imagino los nadadores) tienen que mover con la cara al tráfico en dirección contraría.

Well, if this is the US a least he is swimming in the right direction. Pedestrians (and I imagine swimmers) have to move facing oncoming traffic.

Obviously I have no clue about translating FACING traffic.

It's 'syrupy' ;) and "como jarabe" is an excellent translation. More: "veranos muy calurosos el asfalto se pone". If you want to add the 'melts' part, then: "el asfalto se derrite/funde y se pone como jarabe". :) - RelaxingCup, Dec 1, 2013
