It certainly has helped me. It's not a panecea - you still have to put in time and effort, but it's a great learning tool!

Our friends are correct. "Help", yes (and it can be fun too). "Achieve the language"(learn to speak Spanish), probably not. They are two different things. In order to learn to play the piano you must play the piano.

SpanishDict is the best site I have found to learn Spanish. How much you learn depends greatly upon the effort you put into it. There are so many resources for learning here.

Hey! I've also just joined. The funny thing is, I've been using spanishdict for a long time to translate, and had no idea it could be so efficient in helping me learn spanish as well. Paralee's instructional videos are excellent and I find myself feeling confident I'll be prepared when I start Intermediate Spanish I in the fall. Just be honest about your limitations (e.g. maybe I should watch the video one more time) and dedicated. You'll get there!

To confirm most of the opinions already posted- It is all in how you use it. I find that answering difficult questions causes me to research words and phrases that support the learning process. The references and other tools are as good as you permit them to be. Always remember this phrase that I am plagiarizing from a member here--- "Learning a language is a journey-not a destination." Do not get in a hurry-take it day by day and word by word--Paso a paso.
