Well, it is free, so you have nothing to lose if you try. Welcome to the forum! =) - NikkiLR, Jul 8, 2013

Hi Amanda,

Bienvenida!

Are you speaking of new students? I've been using this site for quite some time and if you are dedicated, you can learn a lot here. It's all free. Whoo hooo!

Here's a good 'getting started' link from another user named Moe:

Hola and welcome, Amanda! enter image description here I'd say if you stay dedicated, read the Q & A section, do your best with the lessons here and get to know your fellow 'classmates' by playing the games and participating in the forum, you will quickly start to feel a part of the SD family (and learn Spanish along the way!!). There are lots of other fun resources mentioned around here that can be used in conjunction with your studies. Don't expect to be speaking fluently right away - that takes time, but if you keep at it you'll surprise yourself at how much you can pick up.

Don't be afraid to ask questions and the wonderful people here will help guide you in the right direction. ¡Buena suerte! (Good luck!)
