I am taking this opportunity to share some pre-written verses or "blurbs" I have used frequently. I want to share them with anybody who has earned editing privileges with Span¡shD!ct.

Many of you will already know that "reputation points" measure your contributions to the SpanishDict community. The right to edit questions and answers is earned when you reach 2000 reputation points. In addition to that, when you have earned 5,000 reputation points you will have the ability to edit and add reference articles. You also know that these privileges carry with them an onerous responsibility to use your privilege with the utmost good faith, courtesy and goodwill. It is a privilege which is carefully scrutinized, monitored and strictly enforced.

In applying this privilege, I have created what I call verses or blurbs to be used to offer advice and information to members who make entries or raise questions in the Forum. I am taking this opporetunity to share them with others who share the editing privilege. You may use them "as is" or modify them as circumstances require. You will find that there is often unnecessary wording or unnecessary information given in the verses. The verses are my own creation. I assume full personal responsibility for them and have both created them and now share them without any prior approval or consent from any properly appointed Moderator representing Span¡shD!ct.com.

To use these verses, "click" on the "Edit" button in the window in which they appear. Copy them in their entirety being sure to copy the "Markdown" or "HTML" codes which precede, are found in or follow the text. It is not enough to try to copy them directly out of the window in which they appear in their finished form because you will miss the format, font and colour codes. When you have copied everything, past them into the Reply window where you want them to appear.

I have entered each of the verses into separate Posts. This seems necessary as the individual posts move down on both the "Newest" and "Hot" lists of entries. Below, I have linked each of the verses to its own verse Entry posting. Here is a list of the verses. "Click" on the link to go to the verse you want to use and do your "Cut" and "Paste" from the individual Entry windows.

I look forward to seeing some of them as they are used by you. It will be in seeing them used that I will find my reward and comfort.

I think we need a separate reference library for the articles like this one. Who should I ask about this?

  • There is a references tab, this should be listed there. - Nathaniel Nov 6, 2009 flag

Thank you for using my suggestion for the opening paragraph of the welcome page.

I'm very pleased with the replies to this Entry so far and to its underlying messages. The members who have replied have been more supportive than I expected. Thanks for checking this stuff out. It will be just as interesting to hear from the members who only come on-line later in the day or tomorrow(s). The message has only been up for about 5 hours so there are many who have yet to see it and comment on it and on the links to other verses.

Thanks for your support,

Moe.
