If to anglicize (to make a word that is not English sound English) is anglicanizar in Spanish. Is there an equivalent word in Spanish for making a word that is not Spanish sound Spanish?

¡Gracias!, LagartijaVerde. That is the word I was looking for! - Helind, Jun 8, 2013
Interesting--you get OTAN for NATO, but nonce words like "NATO-ize" don't yield another nonce word like OTANizar. Not that that is a draw back necessarily. - EugenioCosta, Jun 9, 2013

And the English would be--Hispanicize? Iberianize? Castellanitate?

good question too - rogspax, Jun 8, 2013
And thanks to Kiwi too. Hispanicize does indeed ring best of those offered in that discussion, and is nicely parallel with anglicize. - rogspax, Jun 8, 2013

Great answer LagartijaVerde, thanks.

I´d asked some Spanish speaking friends about just that (the Spanish equivalent of anglicize) a while back and no one had an idea. Thanks again for the answer (which in retrospect, seems obvious, as is often the case)

The closest I can think of is "Spanglish".
