What are some famous Spanish idioms or sayings and what do they mean?

Here's some I noted in a La Vanguardia article yesterday replete with cliches.

*vestir la mona de seda* ="you can't make a silk purse out of a sows ear" is a possible

coger el toro por los cuernos = seize the bull by the horns

es el campo de minas= It's a minefield

pasar pagina del episodo= let bygones be bygones
