Word of the Day Level?

Word of the Day Level?

Is it possible to change the Word of the Day to a higher level on our individual profiles? It is so basic, I want to turn it off. It would be really cool if we could choose different levels of volcabulary.

I am changing the category to website questions. - bandit51jd, Nov 25, 2012
I'm sorry, it already is under Website Questions. - bandit51jd, Nov 25, 2012
You could't really expect them to do this, Steve, nobody gets paid, it's a voluntary operation. You may have noticed it is free. - annierats, Nov 25, 2012
I've noticed that other sites do have 'word of the day' categories and some seem more advanced. - katydew, Nov 25, 2012

Beaches Steve,

the palabra del día is totally what you make of it! Join the game and write a sentence. It's entirely up to you how difficult your sentence will be. You can make a very basic and correct sentence, or you can fly high and try to make a difficult sentence, nobody is going to kill you, if you fail.

The actual word hardly matters. It's up to you, how you use it!

Bienvenido al juego.

Hello and thanks for your question. I am not sure about this, but I can send your question to feedback and they will send you an e-mail response. Does that sound ok?

It's not totally clear to me what you're asking. Are you proposing that there should be several Word of the Day questions, for example a "Word of the Day - Basic" and a "Word of the Day - Advanced"? What would be your criteria for using a given word in one or other of them?

Have you played "Recuperacion de Palabras"? It is a game that has more advanced vocabulary. If you are interested, here is the link:

Your statement that you want ¨to turn it off¨, indicates you are receiving La Palabra del Día in your personal email account.

You can turn off receiving these emails. On your personal profile, next to your name is a link, edit-editar. Click that, scroll down, and remove the check mark in that box. You will no longer receive La Palabra del Día.

I do not know how difficult it would be to change the software that creates the current La Palabra del Día. La Palabra del Día comes from the owners of the site and the words are given to us prior to their use. Please see this link. As this is a feedback question for the owners, I will send a feedback to them and see what they say.

Bandit, he wants more difficult words, not no words at all. - annierats, Nov 25, 2012
