Hi, Could you help me to learn how to order coffee/tea/etc. in Mexico in Spanish? i.e. - café americano black - espresso single - espresso double - iced coffee - cappuccino - tea with teabag in - hot chocolate with/without whipcream

¡Muchas gracias!

Good luck with ordering the tea with teabag in before they pour the water. I've tried to ask every way I know how, and finally just let them bring the bag, let me open it, then pour the water.... it doesn't steep as well but they usually bring the water pretty hot so it works well enough. The following old thread link might give you some ideas at least on the tea part.

When friends order a 'cortado' they get half coffee/half hot milk. Sorry, that is all the coffee I know about. I'm a tea-drinker. - katydew, Sep 4, 2012

Good job Katy... For the tea request just say: "Cuando me prepare el té, antes de traérrmelo, por favor meta la bolsa de una vez en el agua caliente. Gracias!

I travel to out-of -the way places in Asia , forget ordering in any language, I walk around the establishment until i see what I want then point to it and , bow and laugh , it usually works . - ray76, Sep 4, 2012
Ray, that is brilliant! Language is not all one can learn here. That is a scream. ;o) We do what works, hey? "Those afraid to be a fool, will not learn quickly". - katydew, Sep 4, 2012
