Let me tell you one more way to tell that time as they would rather say in Spain: 11:30 = Son las doce menos treinta. = It´s twelve minus thirty. You have to believe me on this one.

No Spanish speaker says las doce menos treinta. I't's either las once y media o las once y treinta. - DualG, Jun 27, 2012

You can say it a few different ways:

Son las once y media (most common for homework)

Son las once con trenta minutos

Son las once y trenta

Spanishdict.com has a great tool attached to their translation and dictionary button on the toolbar. Just type in '11:30' and it will feed out the translation and I even think it has a voice pronunciation.
