"Where is the toilet"
Hey everyone,
it's an embarrassing yet stupid sentence to ask for correct translation but: I really wonder what's the correct and most discrete as well as polite way to ask for the toilet in an hotel or restaurant etc?
Thanks for your help!

This may be embarrassing at first, but since you asked for the translation on this forum instead of in an actual conversation, you've avoided about half the awkwardness. ![]()
This is funny, but there's no such thing as a "stupid" question as long as we're here to learn. I hope this helps, and I hope that more people have other ways to ask where the bathroom or toilet is.

Well, some correct expressions:
Por favor, ¿dónde está el water? / ¿dónde se encuentra el water? (a bit impolite, but very common)
¿dónde están los baños?,
¿dónde están los aseos?
¿dónde esté el retrete? (very old-fashioned).
Donde es el banyo? is th correct, polite way to ask.
¿Dónde están los servicios? is what you could say in a hotel.
