How to insert upside down questionmark

I was doing the flash cards and the upside down question mark did not show up on the screen, so I lost 20 points.

How can this be entered?

I face the same problem with the other characters as well. - Ashwarya, Mar 26, 2012
Hi Ashwarya ~ - JohnR1948, Mar 26, 2012
I recommend using the ASCII codes, found in the 'insert symbol' function in your word processor. These can be used with the alt key and your keypad. - JohnR1948, Mar 26, 2012

Hey, You can type an upside down question mark by

-1. Holding down the ALT key

-2. Typing the numbers 168

You can learn how to make other symbols here: Upside Down Question Mark

Here is a good thread about all the accents. You can change your keyboard or get Vilingo's program which will do them all. See this link.

Too bad that SpanishDict doesn't provide this symbol as part of the flashcard quiz, as it does for the accented/tilde letters. - JohnR1948, Mar 26, 2012
I agree, John, we have asked for it, but so far it is not been placed with the other symbols. - bandit51jd, Mar 26, 2012

If you don't have the symbol in your keyboard, you can do this:

Press "alt", write "168", then stop pressing "alt"

This "¿" should appear.

alt +173 it's the opening (or upside down) exclamation mark ("¡")

Some one wrote and said that alt-168 would work, but my US PC makes this into an ¨. However, alt-191 seems to work, as such ¿.

Too bad that the site didn't explain that or have it in the choice bar, like it does on this page.
