Como se dice "If it weren't for football, you might get rocks thrown at you for ...."

"Si es no para el fútbol, es posible tirarle las rocas a usted para.."

I have no idea how to translate this whole sentence. I hope my attempt is good but can somebody please correct anything that is wrong. Thanks :D

rocas => piedras (here in my area!) :) ... and wouldn't it be "le tiraran" if you're using Ud? - cristalino, Mar 11, 2012
good job. its just that im so used to using "tu" to the people around me that i used "te" instead of "le" - Rey_Mysterio, Mar 11, 2012

You would use "para" at the end here, wouldn´t you? - missy8888, Mar 12, 2012
@missy...depends on what ur trying to say. - Rey_Mysterio, Mar 12, 2012
por idiota/for being a idiot....para imitar/for imitating, etc - Rey_Mysterio, Mar 12, 2012

If you look at the SpanishDict page for Si, you will see this example of a similar sentance, not using subjunctive in that clause...

if it hadn't been for you we would have all died=de no ser or de no haber sido por ti hubiéramos muerto todos

Therefore, this is how you would translate the sentence...

"If it weren't for football, you might get rocks thrown at you for ...."

De no ser del fútbol, te tiren piedras para...
