Here we are in a group, a friend arrives with his friend , he comes to the group and we all greet and then he says " quiero que introduce mi buen amigo" There is something not quite right here.

Hi Paco, edited your title for clarity. Goldie has a good answer to your question below. - StuartSD, Feb 17, 2012
Never say "quiero introducírselo a mi buen amigo". - 00d312f5, Feb 17, 2012
Why not? - rac1, Feb 17, 2012
thats exactly the point of the questionGuimmys - pacofinkler, Feb 17, 2012
You guys are missing part of the context. It has disappeared so now I suppose it's an inside joke ;o) - Goldie_Miel, Feb 17, 2012

Hola paco,

Diría, "te presento a mi buen amigo _______"

I would say,"I present to you, my good friend ______"

Or, if introducing to a large group, I think you'd probably say "Les presento..." instead.

This is helpful. Capitalize 'I' in "I present to..." - katydew, Feb 18, 2012

I think he should have said, "Permitame a presentarte a mi buen amigo", but I could be wrong as I am not a native speaker. And you are right, Paco. That just doesn't sound right to me either.

Sanlee, I think that's good if you're just talking to one person (and using informal "you"). Just a correction: Permíteme presentarte... - Goldie_Miel, Feb 17, 2012
Permíteme presentarme a mi buen amigo.... - sanlee, Feb 17, 2012
Thanks, Goldie! - sanlee, Feb 17, 2012

Paco, there are various ways, but the most common in a very social setting, which seems to be your setting here, is simply "Les presento a mi amigo (fulano de tal)."

Please explain what you mean. I don't really get your message. By the way: It's not freind but friend. You shouldn't mix those up, otherwise you don't know your real friends wink

oh sorry, I didn't quite understand your question. Maybe there will be other people that have more experience. - 00434ec3, Feb 17, 2012

I posted a trick question to see who would catch how inapropriate "introducir" is in this case in Spanish. I am pleased to see so many correct answers.

On this line, in a very informal introduction, in English we often say, "This is my brother, George" or something like that.

Can I use "Este es...." in Spanish?

Also, I forgot how to get to the reference section that had the introductions on it. Can someone edit my post with a link?

I'm not sure if this is what you want, Katy. I hope it helps

If you want to be a little formal you could say,

Tengo el gusto de presentarles a mi amigo ???????
