How to use this website effectively to learn Spanish?

Hi,

First of all wish you a very happy new year!!

I am new on SpanishDict and interested in learning Spanish. I chose SpanishDict as online guide to learn the leanguage but after signing up I do not find this website very user friendly.. Can someone just help me in this regard so that I can use this source effectively? Also Is there any option to interact with other users like sending msgs/questions to them directly? I browsed some profiles(of admins) but could not see any option to send messages...

Hi and welcome to the forum!

First of all, I would suggest taking the 4 learn spanish courses here Courses

These are excellent and will take you through the basic structure of the language and give you a real flavour for the language.

Then if you have any questions, just do a search of the answers on the forum. You will probably find that many questions have already been asked and lots of answers given. If you find you don't understand or your question hasn't been covered, just post a question yourself! We have many really helpful people around here, I'm sure somebody will respond to you.

Also the reference section Reference has lots of really useful information to further enhance your understanding.

Welcome. I understand, it took me awhile to figure things out too. If you go to the MORE tab at the top, there's a drop-down box that gives a choice of Reference. On this there is a Technical Support section that has informative links on everything you want to know on how to get started with all the options on SpanishDict. I've been using this site for over a year and everyday learn something new there is to offer.

I browsed some profiles(of admins) but could not see any option to send messages...

You could probably not see this option because you need at least 10 rep points to send private messages, the option is right below the picture of the admin or any member.

To send a private message to admin or anyone else- click on their name or picture and on their profile to the left under their picture and info there's a little envelope and next to it says 'send a private message'. You have to earn 10 reputation points to be able to send a private message, which is probably why you couldn't see it before, but you should be able to now. You get reputation points by asking/answering questions and stuff like that.
