Find a word for a material "related" to the making of clothing.

Question

Leather

The idea is to find an English word or phrase "related" to the material used to make clothing and

write a simple sentence in English and Spanish for that word.

Example:

Leather is often used to make shoes.

El cuero se utiliza a menudo para la fabricación de zapatos.

But not always.

Cotton is a very popular material that is used for making shirts because it can keep you cool in hot weather.

= Algodon es un material muy popular que se utiliza para fabricar camisas porque (lo?) puede permitirse mantener fresco cuando el tiempo hace calor.

I found it quite hard/tricky to translate ''it can keep you cool in hot weather.'' I don't think it s correct but I have done my best and am open to correction as always**
