In the old Spanish villancico "Riu, Riu, Chiu" one of the lines say: "Es la luz del dia, aqueste mocuelo". What does "mocuelo" mean?

I found four sites that spelled it mocuelo and this one that spelled it mochuelo which made sense to me as birds play a prominent part in the villancico.
Es la luz del dia aqueste mochuelo
I suggest that you somehow verify the correct spelling before proceeding with your inquiry.
