How do you know when to use Creer instead of Pensar? Or vice versa. When is it appropriate to use Hacer? Gracias todos,

Pensar and creer are a little different. For example, "creer" is to believe as in personal opinion, while "pensar" is when you think about something using your brain.

Creo que ese hombre es guapo. I believe (or I think) that guy is handsome.

We think using our minds. Pensamos usando nuestras mentes.

And "hacer" is all over the place! It has so many uses, which can be found in its dictionary entry. It is used for describing weather, as well as for asking what someone is doing. It is used for making something in terms of creating and constructing, as well as making sounds. It can be used for time, like an equivalent of "ago". See what I mean? It's all over the map, but it's nothing that our dictionary entry cannot clear up. smile Here are some more uses of hacer. / Here are hacer idiomatic expressions.

In case you have any questions regarding these verbs' conjugations, you can find them by clicking on the links below.

Creer

Pensar

Hacer

I hope I've helped!

Hi,

I'm not agree at all with SonrisaDelSo.

Pensar as SonrisaDelSo said, is with the brain, is rational and you are shure because you has probe it many times, creer is fait, you don't have complety certain of that because you don't need it, you want it.

But you could use to expres an idea, for example when you say "Pienso que esa pelicula es buena", is a personal opinion with certain of what you are saying, this movie really likes you, if I say "Creo que es una buena pelicula" you are expresing that you are not complety certain of what you are saying and you are waiting for approval.
