Don't forget English has a capital E. This is often forgotten by Englsih speakers too. - MaryMcc, Oct 1, 2011

We also capitalize the first letter of the word in the beginning of every sentence. Please remember to do so. - Yeser007, Oct 13, 2011

Me he preguntado últimamente si escogí el camino correcto.

Me pregunto si te gusto.

Me preguntaba si quieres salir conmigo.

Ayer me pregunté algo..... ¿Qué tal tu madre? (¿Todavía está soltera?)

This is a good candidate for the 'confusing English words' game .

In this context:

verbo intransitivo 4. tener curiosidad, pensar (be curious) to wonder about something -> preguntarse por algo

Preguntarse

Me pregunto que : I wonder

I've been wondering: Llevo preguntándome que..... (not sure about the placement of the tilde though).

I certainly can't see any reason for a flag. - Jack-OBrien, Oct 12, 2011

Wondering and asking are not the same. Wondering is something you do mostly in your head (thinking it through, thinking about it, trying to decide, pondering).

and that's the difference between preguntar and its pronomial form preguntarse.

That is a helpful piece of information. Could you give some examples in Spanish? - katydew, Oct 2, 2011
"Me preguntaba si me conviene ese carro", "Me he estado preguntando en qué fallé", "Me pregunto si i es buena idea" - dulce70_12sep, Oct 2, 2011

Hola Dulce,

En este caso "to wonder" quiere decir "preguntarme". Pero no quiere decir "preguntar".

I was wondering where your house was. (Me preguntaba donde queda tu casa.)

"Wonder" tiene otro sentido común como un sustantivo: milagro.

Wondering and asking are not the same. Wondering is something you do mostly in your head (thinking it through, thinking about it, trying to decide, pondering). If you go up to someone and say, "I'm wondering where the train station is", you do want an answer if they know but saying it indirectly, also realizing they may also be as clueless as you are. 'Asking' is directly asking a question outloud and expecting an answer.
