How do you say awkward?
I was wondering, is there a word for awkward in the Spanish language? My Spanish teacher didn't know of one, but I wanted to make sure.

I would be careful using the word torpe
Another doctor fan..
Well, the doctor would know that as he speaks 5 billion different language.
It depends on where you use the word. I mean what you want to say is probably going to change the word in Spanish since I don't think that both language have the same homonyms. So, have a look at this : awkward on WordReference.com
It would mainly be traslated as "embarazoso/vergonzoso"
Your Spanish teacher is a bit awkward for not know this
You would also need some form of context. The following examples use the word awkward in English but translate slightly differently in Spanish.
it's an awkward place to get to by rail - es difícil llegar allí en tren
you've called at a rather awkward moment, I'm afraid - me temo que llamas en mal momento
she could make things very awkward for you - te podría hacer la vida imposible
he's at an awkward age - está en una edad difícil
As a double-click on the word tells us, I would have said 'torpe' covers both physical and mental awkwardness.
By the way, this just made me realise how awkward the word awkward is!! Just look at it, it's so weird.
