Okay, obviously I realize soy sauce is not spanish but thought it would be an interesting way to start a thread about false cognates and the potentially humorous translations they might produce.

Actually, to remain consistent in one language, sauce is a Spanish word and it means willow as in the tree


See ...sauce llorón


So, backing up, Soy sauce would translate more like "I am a willow (tree)"... as silly as that sounds! tongue wink
