"porque de" - is it wrong?
I just watched the video lesson 2.10 and there was this example sentence: "Porque del embotellamiento, no podía mover" (I could not move because of the traffic jam).
This "porque de" sounds strange to me, is it wrong? I've googled it and found that the most common ways to say "because of" are "a causa de", " debido a" or simply "por".
Furhermore, I found this: "As a general rule, unlike most of the other words and phrases listed here, porque can't be used to begin a sentence."
and this
"In Spanish, the most common solution is to use a causa de plus a noun or pronoun. Do not use porque de!"

Yes, this is a mistake, I am reporting it right now, it is a bad sentence actually.
It should read:
Por el embotellamiento /debido al...no (poder) avanzar.
mover cannot be used here.
porque de is not correct.
Quentin, in your examples, it is not porque de but "de tal manera que" 
You can see porqué de used like this too:
El porqué de esto es....
But even here it is not porqué de but the reason for this is...

I have come across this phrase on occasion, and always believed it to be perfectly correct to use in this way to mean
The reason for this is...
I think my assumption is correct, and I think that is what Heidita is saying elsewhere, but I just want to clarify it.

It looks like a complete sentence to me. A causa de does sound better, however.
because (is porque in our dictionary? It keeps going to porqué)

I agree, it's correct to use porqué (written together and with a tilde) as a noun.
It's like in English when a detective in a movie says "We've got the who, but not the why."
I think the example you took from the Bible is incorrect in logic, ie "de" here isn't connected with "porque" but with "tal manera". Imagine this rearrangement of the sentence:
"Porque el Dios amó al mundo de tal manera...."
Here's another example:
Modern Spanish: No podía ver dentro porque el humo salía de la casa.
Biblical style: Porque de la casa salía humo, no podía ver dentro.
ps Here is how the Bible sentence would look if arranged like in my first question:
"Porque de la manera en la que el Dios amó el mundo...."

The tal manera is gone in this version and the de went with it so you are probably correct that the de was associated with tal manera and not porque.
interesting that because is the conjunction and because of is called an idiom.
