How difficult this is for you, new to both Spanish and English! - foxluv, Jul 8, 2011
It is indeed dificult for you but I am sure you will overcome this in time, I think what you are trying to say is, what is the correct usage of these pronouns. - kenwilliams, Jul 8, 2011
And I should have finished off with a question mark thus ? my mistake. - kenwilliams, Jul 8, 2011

Hola! I'm a little confused on your question. What do you mean by using those words with "exact"?

However, I will answer your question as best as I can grin

Uses of tú: "Tú" is used for the "tú" form of verbs. It's as easy as that! grin [Most of the time, you will not need the subject pronouns, though.]

Tú comes la pizza, pero ella come la pasta.

Uses of te: "Te" is an indirect object (IO) and direct object (DO). The IO answers the question "to whom" or "for whom". The DO is the object or person that receives the action. Te is also the reflexive pronoun for the "tú" form of the verb.

Te as an IO: Te lo doy. I gave it to you.

Te as a DO: Te amo. I love you.

Te - reflexive: Te afeitas la cara. You shave your face.

Uses of ti: Ti means you. You use "ti" after prepositions.

Yo pienso en ti cada día. I think about you every day.

When she says exact I think she means correct as in correct usage. - kenwilliams, Jul 8, 2011

  • tú is used as a subject and with a few other constructions (e.g. "según...")
  • te is an object, i.e. whoever or whatever is the aim of the action or is affected by it
  • ti is used after most prepositions, e.g. "para ti", "de ti", "por ti"

The IO answers the question "to whom" or "for whom". The DO is the object or person that receives the action.

Careful with that, because in "Voy a cambiarle el aceite a la máquina", the IO is the machine, not a person. Indirect objects can perfectly be things.

I'm not trying to be a smart-a**, but how else would you pronouce "ti"? There is only one syllable TO stress. Like I said, I'm not trying to be smart... but I am curious. - Tosh, Jul 10, 2011

Welcome to the forum Maya! I am not sure what your question is since the title reflects use of the informal "you" pronoun and what you wrote is asking about "that"? If you need to learn about the pronoun usages click on the following link:

Maybe you should clarify that "ti" has no accent, even though it is pronounced stressed. - lazarus1907, Jul 10, 2011
I could... but you just did. :) - Tosh, Jul 10, 2011
