I'm staying. I can't believe the levels of intolerance expressed today, given over an issue that at its base is about intolerance. Simply amazing.
Everybody has unique and valuable gifts to offer here, whatever their opinions. I understood that from the first day. There's nobody in the membership who follows the basic rules that I would ask to leave. Just as I would not expect to be asked to leave, myself.

But Fred we can "agree to disagree" can't we? That is a resolution "of sorts".
But we aren't even permitted to do this. The apparent resolution is that we all must remain silent about the issue, even now I can't say the word for fear of the thread being deleted because I even mention it. I'm not going to be somewhere that says I can't even mention something that is, to me, a big part of my life. And, I don't even mention it often, I almost never bring it up anyway, but if I'm going to stay here I need to know that I'm not going to be silenced every time I mention what I am or who I love.
I certainly hope no ne leaves SD because of conflict. Just keep in mind all the posts on the thread You Might Be a Spanishdict Addict If
I don't know whether I'm leaving or staying. I went out to do some things for a while and when I returned to SpanishDict the only evidence, aside from the original thread, of any kind of distress was gone. Everything except for the "I'm not leaving" threads was deleted. So now I don't know what the resolution was, or even if there was a resolution. I'm probably going to leave though. Not because I'm angry at anyone, and not because I want anyone to feel bad, but because I refuse to support any place that is willing to pretend that I'm invisible for the sake of peace and profit. Hopefully there was some kind of resolution, but you wouldn't know looking at it.

I find some issues are simply not "resolvable" - differences of opinion are just too strong to allow that to happen. And, like in most families, these issues will "blow up" from time-to-time as has happened "today".
But Fred we can "agree to disagree" can't we? That is a resolution "of sorts".
And besides, you can't go, I would miss those sad-pussycat-eyes way too much....
I haven't been on much lately, but I was just looking around on the forums and noticed that there appeared to be some sort of disturbance. Why is everyone leaving/announcing that they're not leaving? I'd really appreciated it if, without stirring up a delicate issue, someone could please fill me in. I'm not asking for names, just an idea of why everyone is so upset.
Also, hi, Sanlee. As you can see, I don't know what's going on, but I'm glad you and anyone else who is staying is staying. SpanishDict is a good thing.
