My example:

Acaban de terminar la construcción de la casa. El arquitecto fue se vergüenza porque justo se había dado cuenta de que tenía los planes del revés.

They had just finished the contruction of the house. The architect was embarrassed because he had just realized that he had the plans upside down.

jejeje - Thanks Paul!! :) - 001a2987, Jun 22, 2011
Very funny, Chris! - Ingeteacher, Jun 22, 2011
should that be estaba or estuvo + the adjective avergonzado rather than the verb (passive voice) - 0074b507, Jun 22, 2011
Acaban = present , fue vergüenza?? look for the verb, se justo había ?? what is the justo doing between the two verbs? try again - 00494d19, Jun 22, 2011
Pistas para la corrección: "El arquitecto fue "?" verguenza". "Porque se justo había" cambia el orden de esas mismas palabras. Saludos amigo Chris! :) - fjfuentesh, Jun 22, 2011
Gracias Julián y Heidi!! :) - 001a2987, Jun 22, 2011

I've lost my keys and I turned the house upside down to find them. He perdido mis llaves y he volteado al revés la casa para encontrarlas.

Also I think you can say - Se me perdieron las llaves - which makes it sound less your fault and more the keys fault for getting lost je je - Kiwi-Girl, Jun 22, 2011

lol!.. muy bien! :). "He volteado al revés" - fjfuentesh, Jun 22, 2011
Fj, is it wrong to use"volver", or is it just better to use "voltear"? - UnaPalabra, Jun 22, 2011
I don't catch your question because volver is not a synonym of voltear. - fjfuentesh, Jun 22, 2011
I have used in my post volver and you are suggesting voltear. I am asking if my post is wrong. - UnaPalabra, Jun 22, 2011
volver = return, go back voltear = to turn over, to knock down :) - Kiwi-Girl, Jun 22, 2011
yes I checked it on the dictionary. But I found somewhere the expression "vuelta al revés", is it still OK to use it in the case above??? - UnaPalabra, Jun 22, 2011

"Being upside-down" on your house means that you owe more (to the bank on your loan) than the house is worth. terrible financial situation to be in. - amykay, Jun 22, 2011
thanks amy, I did not know:) helio, look at the rules for posting, this is an idiom, does not work in spanish - 00494d19, Jun 22, 2011
