"Ask me later" - preguntar or pedir?

Question

If someone were to ask you to to do something -maybe like play the guitar- and you wanted to do it later, how would you say "ask me later?"

Would you use pedir or preguntar?

Ask in this dictionary says pedir is used to request that someone do something. Therefore a translation might me "pidamelo mas tarde y lo haré."

"Pedir" is used when requesting something [a favor or an object], say ordering food at your favorite restaurant. Yo pido la pasta - I ask for the pasta.

"Preguntar" is generally used for "to ask". Yo pregunta el profesor sobre la tarea - I ask the teacher about the homework.

Since you're not saying, "Ask FOR me later", I would not use pedir. I would use "preguntar".

"Ask me later" - Me pregunta más tarde.
