"ganar" Seems to have many different meanings and I would like to understand them. Ionly know the meaning "to win".

Ganar (click for more definitions)
transitive verb
to win (premio, competición)
to earn (sueldo, dinero) ¿cuánto ganas? -> how much do you earn?
to gain (peso, tiempo)
ganar fama -> to achieve fame en tren ganas una hora -> you save an hour by taking the train
- to beat (derrotar) te voy a ganar -> I'm going to beat you
