"ando" is the first person present tense of the verb "andar". With the subject pronoun understood, it means "I walk".

Like the more advanced members say, it can mean other things, too, depending on context.

What lzanoni said is quite important to remember.

"Yo ando 2 millas diariamente." and "¿Cuantas millas andas diariamente?" isn't the same as "yo ando de vago últimamente." or "¿Qué andas haciendo?" and certainly not "¡¡Anda pa'l carajo!!"

Remember that "andar" can mean "to be." My friends from Argentina frequently use "¿Comó andas?¨ translated roughly as ¨How are you?¨
