lo--es esencial o no?

One of Jeannette's discs is called "Lo esencial". I thought "lo" was used as indirect object.

It is possible I'm mistaken, but this seems to be the neuter article.

  1. Use lo + an adjective to communicate an abstract idea or quality of something. Lo bueno ganará. (The good (side) will win.) Lo difícil de español es el vocabulario. (The difficult (thing) about Spanish is the vocabulary.)

so there is no gender in abstract nouns? - Marsviking, May 16, 2011
oh i see now, if you use adjectival nouns you don't need gender - Marsviking, May 16, 2011

That section has several oddly constructed, awkward Spanish sentences.

Careful with this mistake in the reference section:

¿No ves lo bueno que trabajo? (Don´t you see how good I work?)

It should be "bien", not "bueno".
