I'm looking for a saying...
When I first studied Spanish, my teacher taught us some sayings...like "a stitch in time saves nine" kind of sayings. There was one that basically means you can dress up a monkey but it's still a monkey (you can't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear). I used to love that one because of the rhythm of it but can't remember all the words. It started something like: aunque la mona....
Anyone familiar with this one?
Gracias! Ker

I think you're looking for "Aunque la mona se vista de seda, mona se queda."
