Look up Prendar (to enchant).

prendámonos is the nosotros command so the verb would be prender as the subjunctive of the verb is used.

Without more context I would have guessed that the people have been out in the rain and gotten wet, so that they are saying:

A ver, prendámonos a un árbol, a un tronco, antes que seas desbastada

Let's see, let's set fire to a tree log before the cold and damp weakens you. [or something in that context]

That sounds like the best explanation so far. - donrono, Apr 28, 2011

Look up Prendar (to enchant).

Also, árbol has a tilde.

That's why I included part of the poem. I know prendar means enchant, so to enchant a tree doesn't make sense, I was hoping adding the another part of the poem would make sense to somebody. - donrono, Apr 28, 2011

This comes from a poem Nombre Primitivo by Manuel Pantigoso. I'm looking at a hard copy, so I can't provide a link. - donrono, Apr 28, 2011
