( Sometimes the faults of a son are the reflection of a father’s failure. )

Personalmente, creo que uno de los primeros deberes de un padre es ir de pesca con sus hijos!

Personally, I think that one of the first duties of a father is to go fishing with his children!

It's correct. However, "En una sociedad matriarcal "la" mujer desempeña el papel del padre de familia would sound better that "servir como padre" ( no article is needed) :) Well done, Q! - cogumela, Apr 27, 2011

Jaja, well, i'm not sure how to take that... I guess I have a bad public image. But hey, I may be somewhat blunt and outspoken, but I have deep morals and views I follow too. Christ is the only reason I'm still here and living. Anyways, thanks Laura! =) - DJ_Huero, Apr 28, 2011

Hm... I can't explain why this sounds strange to me: I'd say "Mi padre llegó" or "Mi padre se vino" ... but I'm not sure your sentence needs to be corrected. :) Well done, Pesta! - cogumela, Apr 27, 2011
