"Whatever that is"

There are many usages for the word "whatever", but I mean it in a very specific one. The phrase "whatever it is" is defined on this website, but it's not in a very explicit context, I don't know if it's what I want and it's not exactly what I'm looking for. Here is an example of what I mean.

"OK, I'll try to use a 'diccionario', whatever that is."

whatever

whatever it is, whatever it may be -> sea lo que sea

On second thought, that may not fit your context.

Could you say: sea lo que ésa sea (being the thing that that is)????

Muchas gracias. I wasn't sure if the definition supplied on the site worked here or not, so that's a double thanks. - Hexogen, Apr 6, 2011
