Audio example: Varar

The new translation tool has some rough spots. I don't know if this is the appropriate place to bring this issue up, but look at the audio track example for the above word: "The grandmother hits them with a stick". Huh?? Couldn't she come up with a better phrase? I should add that "Spanish Dict" is great in about every respect... just fyi

Could you link to the audio track? I don't see that definiton for varar in either the SD dictionary or the RAE dictionary.
I assume that we are talking about hitting someone with a vara (rod, switch/stick, etc.)
to cane= pegar con la vara (beat)
