Ray is a master of figurative speech , no wonder he received like 20 Valentines rolleyes ...he starts talking and that is it...we all fall for himconfused

This text was posted here grin

jeje

Anyway, that is those of us who understand more or less what he is saying, like here (for example) wink

Cogumela said, hey, this is lovely, but what does it mean? big surprise jeje, so let's do it.

Translate to Spanish: This is a difficult translation excercise so only advanced students please!!

Natives allowed, even though no bilingual guys like Gekko or usarenzowink Green man, you are outraspberry

I am still asking myself...what is the rabbit thing all about big surprise

I am bereft, bemused , besotted with stultifying gut wrenching grief, sad even.

Heartbroken maybe , but definitely mortifyingly mystified as to why I was left

hanging by my epaulets ,forsaken and lonely like an abandoned birds nest in the

snow. Shocked shaken and shattered ,but not stirred , well maybe less ice and

grenadine and more vodka next time , supposing there is a" next time", perhaps

because we are a little wet and windblown down here I am being given a gentle nudge

in the ,well, you know , we do live in the nether regions , but you should not let

nethers come between friends . Maybe I should put it down to a communication

gaff, after all you do speak a rather strange language up there top-side, so I shall

forgive you ,just put me in next time , oh and thank your mom for the Rabbits

Cuando alguien me llama un cobarde, se invita una repuesta :) - lorenzo9, Feb 22, 2011
Ni tú ni yo estábamos incluidos en ese "cobarde"; de hecho, ¡estamos expresamente excluidos! ¡Deja la peleadera, chico!!! - Gekkosan, Feb 22, 2011

We say "thank your mother for the eggs" around here, Ray. I assume this has a similar meaning to the rabbits sentence?

(We don't say it often I should add, it's just a jocular little phrase..)

Excellent work Iza, Cogu, Gekko, Dakie and Luis!

I observe with some chagrin that nobody has mentioned 'touching the blarney stone' - I believe that if some of our illustrious contributors were to expound verbally with exuberant orations such as we see in their writings, they could perchance be accused of having touched said stone.

(This is about as 'posh' as I get raspberry)

I must laugh a bit here. When the gauntlet is thrown down, the challenge begins. The initial writing is wonderful ,humorous and intriguing with all its metaphor an innuendo. The responses are equally so. Reading all of your posts on this subject has been most enjoyable to say the least. I am still too cowardly to attempt it! big surprise

This is what ray sent to me:

G'day Heidi, I think your idea to use my post about being left out of the chat, just brilliant , I would like to award Izzanoni the" Golden Rabbit " for the best translation in both Spanish and English . Ray. BWAH.

So I am choosing Izan on his request, Izan was the only non-Spanish native to try, great job too!!!

I think everybody was very brave, I hid..raspberry

Cogumela , I liked yours best, wonderful! smile

Oh, by the way, now we are asking outselves...what is the meaning of BWAH?? big surprise

This guy is a mystery...I hope it is nothing rude, raspberry LOL
