@Happyquilter: The present subjunctive is not used following conjunction "si" (desee → desea). - Izanoni1, Feb 16, 2011
Happy: "-ga" in Spanish takes a hard g. You need to change g to j to retain the "ha" sound. I also suggest you change your tense to an imperative in either vosotros or ustedes form since obviously you are addressing more than 1 person. - Deanski, Feb 16, 2011
Thank you! I have tried to make the corrections. Deanski, where is the "ga" that I need to change? - happyquilter, Feb 16, 2011
corríjanme (verb & direct object pronoun together) > corrígan me - Deanski, Feb 16, 2011
Please feel free to correct me. Por favor corríjanme si desean. - happyquilter, Feb 16, 2011
Thank you Deanski! I want to pay you! Jeje. Keep them coming. - happyquilter, Feb 16, 2011
@Happyquilter: jejeje...you changed your verb but kept the subjunctive: "Si ustedes quieran" → "Si (ustedes) quieren" - Izanoni1, Feb 18, 2011
Thank you izanoni. I think it is fixed now. I really appreciate all the help. It improves me! - happyquilter, Feb 18, 2011

He terminado spanishdict.com lecciones 3.7 y 3.8. Gané la insignia "Estudiante Estelar" para recibiendo 100% por leccion 3.7. Es una buena leccion para ganando esta insignia porques los flashcards son sobre los colores, que sean fáciles. Las respuestas son muy cortas y no tienen muchos tildes.

I have finished spanishdict.com lessons 3.7 and 3.8. I earned the Star Student badge for receiving 100% on lesson 3.7. It's a good lesson for earning this badge because the flashcards are about the colors, which are easy. The answers are short and there aren't many accents.

Hey I finally earned the star after 37 lessons, lol!

I'm process oriented rather than goal oriented smile

That said, my long term goal is to become fluent in Spanish since I live in a Spanish speaking country. I don't have any intermediate goals.

I took a two month break from studying Spanish, but now I am back! I did not mean to break that long. However, during that time I did continue to improve due to my volunteer work with a Latina support group.

In the past few days I was doing a quick reversion on the preterit and Imperfect tenses as well as the last 3 lessons in learn Spanish 2, still a little bit confused about some irregular verbs thought, I just need some practice wink

For the next few days I'll be only practicing and I won't start anything new because I need to practice some French as well shut eye.

Hi Lovely. I know what you mean about learning the irregular preterite verbs. It seems to take both memorization and practice for them to come naturally. I am still mentally "conjugating" them in conversation, which is not good, lol. - happyquilter, Mar 7, 2011
lol I'm trying to do my best to memorize them ;) - 00b6f46c, Mar 7, 2011

Hi Happyquilter,

I love making goals, but I love reaching them even more. Thanks for giving us a place to encourage each other.

For me, in addition to everything I learn in this site smile, I love doing the videos on a site called Lacasarojas. I have mentioned this site in a few threads because I love it so much. All of last year, the videos were free, which was great. Now there is a monthly charge. I have paid for this month at least. I have already watched 167 of the videos and they have now added a few more.

My goal is to watch each of the videos again and to catch up with the ones I have not yet seen. So far I am back up to #110. More importantly, I want to understand each video completely. Since there are a few which I am still a bit confused on, I will need to go back and repeat those once I have caught up. I would like to achieve this before leaving for the Dominican Republic in June.

I would also like to commit to reading several articles of a Dominican newspaper online every day to practice my reading and also to be more in tune with what is going on in the country in preparation for my trip. I have found some great newspapers in the reference section on this site. Click here if anyone else didn't realize this resource was available here.

I know this is a lot, but I am setting aside several hours each day and hopefully I will reach these goals. wink

I completed the entire "Practice makes Perfect -- Basic Spanish" workbook by Dorothy Richmond. I had started it in the fall, but at the end of December I started over and went through every exercise again. I just finished the translation exercises at the end. Now, I think it's time to start up on the video lessons again. I need some review on preterit and imperfect. I will let you know when I get that done. Thanks again for having this group.

I want to learn how to speak Spanish. I have completed up through Spanish 2 on this site. I took Spanish one in community college last semester and now I am taking Spanish two. I love this site and I admit to my addiction. Now, I have to get back to the books. Thank you for this post.
